Overview

An inspection is a close reading of the car as it presents today. It records what is visible, what appears original, and where earlier work has been carried out, with attention to provenance as far as it can be read from the car.

It is an assessment rather than a valuation, a mechanical report or a certification of authenticity: it says what was observed, not what the car is worth.
