Overview

Preservation and restoration at ALC Elite begins with the car in front of us — its condition now, how original it is, and how it is used. The work spans prestige, performance, collector and classic cars.

It is proposed, not sold as a package. Surface and finish restoration, refinement, protection and interior work are each weighed against what the car will take and what it should keep. It does not extend to mechanical rebuilding, fabrication or body-shell restoration.

What's usually involved

This is the kind of work involved. What your car actually needs is agreed after we've seen it.

  • Assessment of paint, finish and previous repair
  • Surface decontamination and preparation
  • Preservation-led paint correction and refinement, where appropriate to the car
  • Interior refinishing and rejuvenation of worn or aged trim
  • Protection appropriate to the finish and how the car is used
  • Preparation for concours and high-standard events, where required

Within this service

Classic Car Preservation & Restoration

Classic and collector cars are approached as preservation first. What is original is kept wherever keeping it is the better outcome for the car, and restoration is proposed only where the car genuinely needs it rather than because it would look newer afterwards.

Interior Trim Repairs & Refinishing

Repair, refinishing and rejuvenation of worn or aged interior trim, scoped after the interior has been seen. The aim is an interior consistent with the age and character of the car, not one made to look new.

Concours Preparation

Concours preparation is a specialist service, planned around the car and the event. Discuss the occasion with Jonty so the work can be assessed and the scope agreed.
